a Garden of National Significance: “ The assessors were unanimous that this historic garden had regained its former status as one of the leading gardens in New Zealand and is now a Garden of National Significance” The 'pass mark' has been set very high for these gardens, so any visitor should be in no doubt of its quality. The garden was critically evaluated by the New Zealand Gardens Trust on a range of factors including: landscape and design, plant material and use, maintenance, safety and overall impression. |
